Introduction
Stargate has fast become one of my favorite, if not the favorite science fiction program on TV.  While I am not one to typically advertise such sentiments in the form of basal drawings of my favorite characters or otherwise project fantasies in some strange form, I do enjoy writing stories set in these favorite universes, more as an act of homage than anything else.

The Setting Background
The setting for Stargate Explorations is based on the Stargate Universe, of course, but is placed in an entirely different location, an attempt to keep true to Stargate but to present it in a new and unique fashion.  Events leading up to Explorations are based off of events in the television show and the movie, and are -- I hope -- logically presented so that they will not be entirely displaced from the Stargate Universe.  Last updated November 24, 2005

A Who's Who of Explorations
The characters of this setting are unique to it, although they have ties to those that we've seen in the Movie and on the TV series.  But one thing that I dislike doing is presuming that I know what established characters, well-written and really the creation of both writers and actors, would do or like or how they would react to various circumstances.  Thus canon characters might show up in "cameos", but in my fan fiction they will never have starring roles.  That I will reserve for people who create these stories in a more official capacity.

Places and Planets in SG-E
Stargate Explorations takes place in the Small Magellanic Cloud, far enough away from the Milky Way to require an eighth chevron and extra power to the Stargate, theoretically, yet not so far that the only way to reach it would be through the rare, much needed Zero Point Modules that are the source of much searching by both the SGC and those in Atlantis.  Also, I wanted it to be far enough away so that those in the story are not dependent on what is happening in the Milky Way, but yet are not totally isolated from them.  Last updated November 25, 2005

Peoples, Races, and Civilizations
References to other species aside, there are a limited number of aliens in this setting.  There are, however, a number of Human-derived civilizations, descended from the Partholonian Ancients.  These Nemedians evolved culturally into many unique peoples, and even the Unas derived Fomhor have developed many cultures and civilizations, even if they continue to share certain attributes. An SGC Handbook
Characters aside, there are items and places in Stargate Explorations that are assumed to be known to the reader, and which have had their introduction in either the Movie of the TV series.  This section is for those items, an encyclopedia if you will, which will also cover items and such that have been mentioned in this series.  The definitions for established objects will be taken from official sites, as well as some of the more reputable fan sites, but my items (which will be noted as such) will be wholly defined by myself.
