World Atlas

The World Before (Up to 100,000 years ago):  This is how the world once was, steeped in tropical savagery and primeval lust, and how from those heat-laden days came the force of corruption that ultimately lead into the modern era.  The planet has long since ceased the massive convulsions of its primary recovery, and it has been that recovery which has formed the basis of today's existence.  Last updated October 6, 2005

"Herein these pages lay the paths of the world, and by your eyes alone may you travel the world, oh Son, from horn to horn, and on down into the depths of time when mountains and seas stood in each others' footprints, and like a wardrobe each age held a different cloak."
~~ The Book of al'Quirish

The Hyperborean World (100,000 to 60,000 years ago):  After the great corruption, the world was cast on to its side, the lands torn asunder.  It was the north polar continent, now under constant sun, that became a tropical paradise and the land that Humans first walked upon.  Here lay the seat of the Age, the center of a mighty civilization where people became as one with magic, and where they learned to ascend to a plane higher than the surrounding world.  Never again would Humans reach this level.  Last updated October 6, 2005

The Lemurian World (60,000 to 45,000 years ago):  With the beginning of this age, the world convulsed and righted itself, and even as Hyperborea was cast into cold and darkness, the central equatorial continent, belt of the world, became the new paradisiacal jungle land.  Great beasts shared this land with Humans, and the cultures that arose here were less than before, but still great and powerful in their own right.  Last updated October 19, 2005

The Muvian World (45,000 to 35,000 years ago):  The equatorial continent of Lemuria shattered, and its people were scattered.  But on the largest fragment, a continent in its own right, there arose the land of Mu.  Her people were noble savages, her religion lost in mysticism.  And her legacy opened the way for future development of magic.  Last updated November 2, 2005

The Kronan World (35,000 to 21,000 years ago): The world was torn asunder once more, and as the continents shifted and sank and rose, moving ever closer to their true and intended positions, Mu was cast into ruin and from the ashes arose the great and terrible empire of Krona.  This nation subjugated all others, and those that resisted, even those born from Krona itself, were swift to be cast down and destroyed.  Page pending

The Typhaean World (21,000 to 16,000 years ago):  The empire of Typhaea, born from the fires of Krona, having tossed down the last vestiges of that civilization, it was one of the last colonies to have been created by Krona.  It was a case of the child, coming back to slay its parent, and dwelling forever in the ruins of its house.  Few new monuments did they build, but instead they lorded over that which was.  Page pending

The Rutan World (16,000 to 12,000 years ago):  Ruta, jewel of Age, arose from the utter destruction of Typhaea and forged a mighty empire.  But there were other great empires of this age as well, and all gave Ruta plenty of competition, enough so that though they were a dominant nation, they did not rule all.  Page pending

The Aulitean World (12,000 to 10,500 years ago):  Aulitea, the last of the mighty empires, whose power and threat stretched from one end of the globe to the other, and who became known in much later ages as Atlantis, the Antediluvian Empire.  This was the quintessential ancient civilization, and everything that followed after has been a pale remembrance, trying to recapture a glory long since lost beneath the waves.  Page pending
